Abstract Housing construction is a common activity and always needed from time to time. House can be in the form of building new house or renovating an existing building. The impact work adjacent structure something that cannot avoided but must minimized. case study this research aims increase awareness all parties project related potential damage surrounding buildings may occur. This was conducted with on residential houses Case A B located Surabaya-Indonesia. Field observations, analysis causes, rectification methods estimated cost were carried out study. These two studies presented damages due settlement which caused by surcharge fill loading. causes differential both sides building, had impacts floor slope cracks wall. Proposed works made restore reach minimum serviceability requirement prevent further future. repairing retrofitting significantly increases budget for project. Therefore, careful planning considering soil more attention, especially dense urban area. Good communication coordination between contractors owners neighbouring are also minimize conflicts during after works.
